Quartz is the second-most-abundant mineral found on the surface of the Earth. A significant component
of many igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, this natural form of silicon dioxide is
found in an impressive range of varieties and colours.
There are many different varieties of quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones. Especially
in Europe and the Middle East, varieties of quartz have been since antiquity, the most commonly used minerals
in the making of jewelry and hardstone carvings.
Some quartz composites, such as Zodiaq®, catch and reflect light, capturing the radiance of the quartz crystals
that it contains. Unusual clarity and consistency of colour are other qualities, that, when combined with
exceptional strength and durability, offer great potential for use in both horizontal and vertical applications.
